Black and dark blue
The workhorse wavelength, and the one every removal laser carries.
Reds, oranges, yellows
The warm end of the spectrum, which a single-wavelength machine cannot reach.
Blues and greens
The colors most clinics turn people away for. This is the one that changes the answer.
Three wavelengths, the full spectrum of ink
Tattoo pigments absorb light selectively: a wavelength that shatters black ink passes straight through red, and vice versa. Most clinics own a machine that does the first one only. That is why some of them turn you away when your tattoo has green in it, and why people come here after starting somewhere else — finishing removals that stalled on older, single-wavelength equipment is a regular part of the work. If a tattoo has been declared "unremovable," the color coverage here is usually the reason it isn't.
A square spot, and why that means less scarring
Round laser beams overlap as they move across skin, and those overlaps are hot spots — hot spots are what blister and scar. The Toro fires a square spot that tiles edge to edge and lands the energy evenly. It is the main reason our clients have less than a 5% chance of permanent scarring, and it is a hardware property, not a technique claim.
Comfort and safety
- Chilled air runs over the skin the whole time the laser is working. Most people describe it as a rubber band snapped against the arm.
- Topical anesthetic is available for $30 a tube if you would rather have it.
- Every treatment starts with a test on a small spot, to see how your skin responds before the rest of the tattoo is treated.
- The person at the controls is a registered nurse and certified laser safety officer, not a technician. On medical-grade equipment, operator judgement is part of the safety margin.
