The pairs above cover the honest range: amateur pieces gone in two treatments, dense professional work that took ten or twelve. Three things set the pace.

  • How the tattoo was made. Amateur ink sits shallower and clears fastest; dense professional work takes the longest.
  • What colors it carries. Black and dark blue respond quickest. Greens, oranges and yellows are the stubborn end of the spectrum, which is why carrying three wavelengths matters.
  • Where it sits on your body. Skin with good circulation — chest, neck, belly — clears faster than fingers and toes, because your bloodstream is what actually carries the shattered ink away.
